Importance of Prior Learning Assessment for Incumbent Workers
Many incumbent healthcare workers have prior learning gained through educationally relevant on-the-job experiences, through CEUs (Continuing Education Units), in-service programs, and other training, volunteer or community service, or independent study. A number of colleges accept prior learning as a valid component of an individual’s education. They allow you to demonstrate that previously acquired knowledge is equivalent to college-level education, and grant credit for prior learning through a wide range of methodologies.
